Macular degeneration is an impactful eye disease on many people in the Oklahoma City area, especially as the largest demographic ages. Our team of doctors can help with the evaluation and treatments for macular degeneration. Macular degeneration comes in two types – wet and dry. Macular degeneration typically occurs more frequently in the aging population with patients over 60. Research has shown there are many other factors such as family history, smoking, hypertension, obesity, and/or a high cholesterol, high fat diet that may contribute towards the development of macular degeneration.

Those at high risk should schedule a checkup with an eye care professional at least once every year, to catch the disease in its infancy. There are several treatments to combat wet macular degeneration, which our staff can explain the options for.
