The history of Precision Vision, with locations in Oklahoma City, Midwest City, Edmond, and Shawnee began in 1981 when Dr. R. Randall Robinson opened his practice, after finishing his residency at the Dean A. McGee Eye Institute. Dr. Darrell J. Pickard joined Dr. Robinson in 1993, and Selina R. McGee, OD joined the group in 2002. Cris Thompson, DO joined in 2014 and Jared Jackson, MD, joined in 2016. Together, our eye doctors have a combined 70-plus years of service to the greater Oklahoma City metro, Midwest City, Del City, eastern Oklahoma County, Edmond and Shawnee areas.
DARRELL J PICKARD, MD
Darrell J. Pickard, M.D. was the first surgeon in Oklahoma City to offer laser cataract surgery as well as dropless cataract surgery. Dr Pickard is a board certified Ophthalmologist, Cataract and LASIK Surgeon. He specializes in advanced cataract surgery and lens implants and refractive surgery including LASIK Eye Surgery and PRK. He has served as a full-time eye surgeon for Midwest City and its surrounding communities in the Oklahoma City metro since 1993. A native of the Mid-Del area, Dr. Pickard attended Oklahoma Christian College, Oklahoma State University, the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine and the University of Texas Health Sciences in San Antonio. He was one of the first eye surgeons in Oklahoma to perform laser vision correction with the VISX laser starting in 1996. Dr. Pickard is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract Refractive Surgery, The American Medical Association and the Oklahoma State Medical Association.
JARED R. JACKSON, MD
Jared R. Jackson, M.D. is a board certified ophthalmologist specializing in advanced cataract surgery and ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery. He performs standard as well as laser cataract surgery, dropless cataract surgery, and advanced technology intraocular lens implantation. Dr. Jackson is also fellowship trained to diagnose and treat conditions affecting the eyelids, lacrimal system (tear ducts), and orbit (eye socket) as well as providing medical eye care for diabetes and glaucoma. A native of Utah, Dr. Jackson graduated summa cum laude from Brigham Young University before earning his medical degree from the University of Iowa College of Medicine, where he was elected a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. During ophthalmology residency and ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship at Dean A. McGee Eye Institute/University of Oklahoma, Dr. Jackson performed nearly 2,000 procedures and assisted in nearly 2,000 more. He received the Dr. and Mrs. T. E. Acers Resident Honor Award and served as chief resident. As a fellow, he provided clinical instruction in the Dean A. McGee Eye Institute oculoplastics and resident clinics, receiving the Dr. Annie Moreau Fellow Teaching Award. He remains involved in resident education as a surgical instructor for cataract surgery at the Oklahoma City Veterans Affairs Hospital.
Dr. Jackson is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract Refractive Surgery, American Medical Association, and the Oklahoma State Medical Association.
CRIS THOMPSON, DO
Dr. Cris Thompson specializes in advanced cataract surgery and the comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of medical and surgical diseases of the eye. Dr. Thompson earned his B.S. in Biology from Oklahoma City University. He received his doctorate from the Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences and completed his Ophthalmology Residency at Grandview Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio, one of the oldest and most renowned osteopathic training hospitals in the country. Dr. Thompson is Board Certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Ophthalmology and maintains active memberships in the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Osteopathic Association.
SELINA R. MCGEE, OD, FAAO
Selina R. McGee, OD, FAAO is a native Oklahoman who works at Precision Vision in Midwest City and Edmond as a specialist in primary care optometry. Dr. McGee performs comprehensive eye exams which include eyeglass and contact lens prescriptions, as well as evaluating the eye for the presence of glaucoma, cataracts, age related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, hypertensive retinopathy, amblyopia and many other types of ocular pathology. She is a dry eye specialist, lecturing extensively on ocular surface disease. Dr. McGee earned her O.D. degree from Northeastern State University College of Optometry, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Dr. McGee is a member of the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians and the American Optometric Association. In 2012 Dr. McGee was named Oklahoma’s Young Optometrist of the Year.
